I had the opportunity to try Toro Sushi Stone Grill and Bar when I met up with my extended family to celebrate my grandma's 1 year death anniversary. We needed a private space that accommodated at least 15 people comfortably and Toro had the perfect room for us. We e had one of the private rooms in the back, it felt very intimate - I loved it. Our servers were fast, as soon as we placed an order it felt like within seconds our food came out and it was fresh. You can tell the sushi was prepared with love. The food here was not only fresh but worth the price. I do recommend to friends and family to come and at Toro.
We were seated right away because we had reservations. Our server seemed a little confused at what we had ordered, but it was resolved quickly. The place felt very regal & fancy & the lighting was pretty dim giving that elegant look. We decided to share different rolls and appetizers. We opted for our own bento boxes too. The ribeye steak was so good & juicy! Cooked medium rare, my fave temp. Notable new fave sushi: TRUFFLE OIL SUSHI. Oh. My. Goodness! This was a hit for our table! I almost ordered another one! The truffle oil paired with the salmon was so tasty! I absolutely loved it! I'm coming back for it, lol!

My friends took me here for my birthday celebration. We were six people and usually the booth is for four but they accommodated us well. We were very lucky to have the server who was very helpful, cheerful and good at serving and suggestions. We ordered hot sake and cocktails, then we ordered the grill which was a very special tray and a big one. We started grilling and enjoying and then we got sushi they were so delicious. The service was great, the ambience was great and vibing. We finished our dinner, took lots of pictures and made it a long time memory. I have to call out the server, she was really helpful, she allowed us to bring our own cake which was really kind.
This was kind of a fancy, upper scale Japanese restaurant. It was nicely decorated. I ordered the Omakese Sushi Set that came with 10 pieces. One of the ten pieces was supposed to be uni, but the waiter told me they ran out and asked if I wanted to substitute it for another piece of toro. I said okay. The sashimi pieces were all so soft, tender, and melted in your mouth! All ten pieces were delicious! It was nicely arranged and presented beautifully. I was not full after eating that, so I ordered dessert when the dessert menu was brought to me. I ordered the Chocolate Tartufo. The chocolate gelato was good. Overall, nothing special, but it was a nice sweet ending.
We came here out a Saturday afternoon for lunch, it wasn't really busy and we were sat for a table of 5 immediately. We ordered 3 Black Garlic Ramen s because it just looked that good, 2 rice bowls, and 2 sushi rolls. Everything came out in a good time, but one of our rice bowls took a bit longer that the rest of our food, but our server made us aware. They topped off our waters all the time, so we were never low. I'm in town visiting family for the holidays and this ramen is way better than anything I can get back in NM. My sister left her ourse here and she went back within the hour and they had purse safe. Parking can be crazy because of the plaza it's in, but I would recommend this place no problem.
On a Sunday evening, Toro Sushi Stone Grill & Bar was quite receptive to our to-go order. After calling, we were immediately able to order and pick up our food within 25 minutes. While I did not get the dining experience the restaurant seemed to be somewhat busy and nicely decorated. For my friends and I, we ordered Fried California Roll, Sunset Roll, and Rainbow Roll. Judging based off their rolls, I did not find anything unique about the rolls. All rolls were okay, and I could find these rolls for quality and quantity to my liking at a different location. My personal experience would give this rating closer to a 3. However, I did not have the full dining experience with the stone grill and order items suited for that experience; therefore, I have given the benefit of the doubt and would like to try this place another time where I can try their specialty items.
The Stone Grill side exceeded my expectations. I had been to the regular side and number of times and found it ok, so to me, the grill side is waaaay better. The quality of meat was great and the portions were just right for my party of 4.5 (nope, not cause of my child! LOL - my mom is such a light eater that I consider her more like a 0.5). We ordered the Beef Lover Set, added a pork jowl platter, and also a 12pc sashimi entree. All of us were "just right" after that and not stuffed. Surprisingly, for a side full of grills, we weren't sitting in a pool of smoke. I was half expecting to smell like a grill afterwards and somehow it wasn't! Overall, I think we'll be coming to this side moving forward.
